Alright, thanks everyone for joining our webinar today. Uh, my name is Ashley Barker, and I'm a solutions engineer here at Crown Peak. And I actually specialize in our digital accessibility and quality solution. Uh, so today, what we'd really like to go through our, um, some ways that you can start to expand the capability of your CMS, uh, how to reduce and to start removing some of those accessibility issues, improving the overall usability of the website, and of course, being able to add some quality controls, uh, during the content creation process. On our agenda today. We just went through a very brief introduction. We're going to dive into digital accessibility and quality and why it's so important in today's world. And then of course, really what we're here for today is to show you what our DXM or digital quality management solution is and more importantly, how it interacts with your current CMS. And then, of course, we'll wrap it up with some QA and some next steps. Um, and before we jump in, I did want to make a quick, uh, housekeeping comment. If there are any questions, uh, any comments, please feel free to utilize the Q&A button and we will make sure we answer those questions at the end of the presentation. And if we run out of time, we will follow up with those answers in writing. So now that we've got, uh, everyone here, let's actually dive in and start to kind of deconstruct what digital accessibility is and more importantly, how this relates to what we're doing now. When we think about digital accessibility, it's one of the areas that's quite new in the last, let's say decade, uh, thinking about uh, disabilities in general when we think about the physical world. Uh, there are things like wheelchair ramps and, uh, elevators to make sure that people who have a disability can still get into a building. When we think of the online area. Uh, it's harder to make those items tangible when we think about making our website accessible and making our, uh, consumer journeys accessible. And so what we've done is really put together some information that allows you and your teams to understand the process of how you design your websites and your content, and an inclusive nature that takes into account accessibility on page SEO, usability, as well as brand guidelines. Now, thinking about digital accessibility because this is still a little bit new in the technology space, it is really critical to have a trusted partner who understands what this is meaning what is digital accessibility and how can we work with it. And here at Crown Peak, we have really been a leader in the industry as it relates to digital quality and accessibility technology. And uh, today what we're going to see is Crown Peak is actually taken that one step further. And now, uh, as of right now, we are the only CMS that has a native integration for digital accessibility and quality. And again, that's what we're here to see today. How can you take your existing CMS. And uh, kind of I would say kind of put it on steroids so that it is now ensuring the content was accessible, usable, and, uh, within those brand guidelines. Now when we talk about digital accessibility. One of the items that is really important to understand, uh, are what, uh, what all of these guidelines and regulations around the world where these come from. And there's a body wcaG and, uh, the wiki guidelines, these are the ones that really are the basis for all regulations, uh, globally. And this is why it's really important that we understand this. So let me kind of give you a visualization here. So when we think about digital accessibility and quality, what really guides all of that are these wcaG guidelines, web content accessibility guidelines. And there's different conformance levels a double A and triple A. But really what I want to show on this visualization is that all of these regulations are using the same wicked guidelines. And what that means is that we can take the same set of guidelines and apply it globally. And really, what I like to say is, once you understand a couple of these wcaG guidelines, once you know, you know, you don't have to try to relearn this every year, uh, the guidelines build on each other. And so it's really an educational process, both for our teams as well as for our customers. So when we think about digital accessibility and quality, why is this important? What impacts can this have on our business. And so we like to go over this slide really high level because there's two ways to look at digital quality and accessibility. There is the saving money side. And when we think about saving money um, different regulations that are beginning to require digital accessibility. Uh, we're going to talk a little bit about things like EEA, um, European Accessibility Act that is coming into law in June of 2025. Uh, in the US, there are some regulations and guidelines that have already been passed. So why this is really important is you and your company want to be above reproach. We do not want to be in a position where we could get a demand letter, because we had a customer come to our site and utilizing a screen reader, the images didn't show up. The links were not read out correctly. These can cause issues on the website and demand letters. And we know these demand letters can range anywhere from 20,000 to several hundred thousand in terms of settlement. So really what we're saying here is let's avoid the risk and let's ensure that we are not going to have these issues come up. Now the most important part, right. Making money. How do we make money utilizing Chrome Peak's digital quality management? The way we do that is by taking your website, upping the quality, upping the accessibility. And what that does is it now provides a bigger market for you and your teams to access. When we think about global population, 1.3 billion, approximately, uh, our living day to day with a disability and whether that's a temporary disability. So if you think about breaking an arm, breaking a leg or permanent disability, maybe loss of eyesight, uh, all of these items impact the entire world. And so when you think about a website, if someone comes to the website and they're unable to navigate it because the links aren't being read out, the images aren't descriptive. What we know is people drop off the site if they cannot understand how to navigate the site using a screen reader, they're just going to jump to the next site because it's not worth it. So how can we make our website, uh, not only inclusive and accessible, but also more searchable? Uh, better indexing from Google. So when we think about making money, what we're talking about is taking your global reach and expanding it. If approximately, you know, 15, 10 to 15% of the world are living with the disability. We also know that 15 to 20% of our customers are experiencing that, 15 to 20% of our employees are experiencing that. So if we can prevent some of these demand letters from getting sent out and we can make our website more accessible, more usable, we can start to really open up our market. All right. We've been talking a lot. I know we've gone through some slides now I'm going to actually jump into. Of course, the best part is the actual demonstration and what this looks like for you and your teams. Or that we are actually going to start within our first spirit CMS. Many of you may see and recall this setup, and again, we are in a demo site of our first spirit CMS. Within our CMS. I want to do a couple call outs, a couple things I want to point out with our DXM, our digital quality management. We have it natively integrated into the app. It is. And this is something we'll address towards the end in Q&A. How do we implement this? What does that implementation look like. But on your side on the CMS side, when this is implemented you'll notice a couple new buttons. This first one is the DQM up here in the header. And of course it says DQM dashboard. And then you'll also notice down here we have a DQM connect. These are the two new areas within the CMS that will be available for use. Again DQM here DQM connect here. And we'll go through both of those. Let's dive in. So when we think about DQM digital quality management, there is actually a standalone platform that we use the software. What this software is is it is or what we're doing is we're sending an external scanner out to the website, crawling everything on the website, images, PDFs, aggregating all of that data into. Um, sorry, into, uh, an actual dashboard so that we can understand what's going on on all of our web properties. Um, again, as a scanner goes out once a week, pulls all of that data, it's scanning against those wcaG guidelines that we spoke about earlier. A double A and triple A. And what we're doing is we're identifying these top three areas accessibility on page SEO and usability. And what this is doing is really providing you and your teams a level playing field of what's happening on our website. And this is really where we can start to understand are we adding content without introducing new issues? Um, again, this is a standalone product, but one of the things I wanted to mention. Look how easy it is. It is literally a click of a button. Boom. You're within the DXM platform. I would like to take you to an issue really quick, so that we can understand exactly the information that we are providing all of these wcaG guidelines, each one of them is pretty nuanced, right? So there's different guidelines that help websites be more accessible, more inclusive. When we think about digital accessibility, indicate when a link will open in a new window really quickly. If someone's clicking on a link and it doesn't tell them that it's spawning a new window, they could spawn 40 tabs before they realize what's going on. Now, because we've been working with these standards, we know a lot of these standards. But for each one of these checkpoints, what we've done is fully vetted it out. And what does that mean? We are going through telling you why this checkpoint is important, how you can resolve this checkpoint. So some potential remediations of this checkpoint, as well as how this checkpoint works, meaning what are we scanning on the website to identify this issue? The reason this is so critical is this is the way we start to upskill and train our teams, uh, to make better content, to make more accessible content. And this is a really big key to that, is being able to have the information all in one area for all of our teams to utilize. All right. So I know we've kind of, um, gone through some of this pretty quickly, but the main areas that I wanted to point out on this is with the simple click of the button, you can now pull up your digital quality management or your DXM dashboard, which again, will have all of your websites, all of your properties. And then of course, those top three primary scores. All right. So that was kind of a crash course in the DXM software. Now, what I want to do is actually show you in action how this integration within the CMS, within our first spirit actually works, and how you and your teams can really implement this. So when we were looking at digital quality management, our DXM, this is once it's been published, once that information has been published, we're sending that scanner out. When we think about our content creation process. Right. Adding content to our website. This is where true pre-publication can take place in terms of digital accessibility, quality and on page SEO and usability. What do I mean by that when we're creating content on our website? Um, as we all know, uh, you know, if we add a picture on here, uh, one of the things that oftentimes is forgotten about is that every picture, in order for a screen reader to be able to understand what that picture is or be able to convey the meaning to the person utilizing the screen reader, there has to be something on there called an alternative text or an alt text. Now. When we have our CMS up and running, we can simply click on this flag, our DXM connect flag. And what you're going to see is this side panel pop up. What this side panel is doing is it is identifying all of the potential issues on our page that are impacting accessibility, usability. We can come up here to the topics and we can actually filter on a topic. So if I am, you know, really just focused on accessibility like that is my area of remit. I can actually say, listen, I don't need to think about on page SEO. I only want to focus on accessibility. Um, of course we have those usability areas. And then I'll flip it back over to all topics, because when we think about digital quality, quality includes usability. Quality includes branding and brand guidelines. So with DXM connect, what you're going to notice is, uh, with this picture that I have added on to the website. When I click on image alt attribute should not be empty. It actually has highlighted inline within our CMS where this issue is. And if I'm not really sure what this issue is, I can hover over it and get really a quick, uh, explanation for what we're looking for here. Uh, when I see that, of course, it's, uh, highlighted here in red. I know that I cannot leave an alt text empty. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to come over to my picture, and it's, of course, the same way that you edit in work in your website. You'll notice there's an alternative text down here. So I'm going to just say cool to let people know, hey, we're looking at a pool. Now think about this. As a content editor, what I've done is I've just added a picture. Uh, I realized that there was an accessibility issue with it, so I corrected it. Now, what's interesting is, even though I corrected it, I've now actually introduced a new issue inadvertently because although I put an alternative text on there, it can't just be one word, not descriptive enough. So even though I corrected one thing, I inadvertently introduced an additional issue. These are the things that we can start to train our teams on so we can say pool with reflective surface. And now we have a more descriptive image. I haven't published any of this information yet, but what you'll notice is I have turned an image from a non accessible image now into an accessible image because not only does it have an alt text, but now that alt text is longer than one word. I'm sure there's a million thoughts going through your minds about how you can use this, but I really want to point out all of this that we've done has all been within the through the CMS. You do not have to be an accessibility expert. You do not have to be a digital quality expert, because what we're doing is identifying these issues for you, providing the information on why these issues are important, potential resolutions to them. And that is where we see the benefit of that native integration with a true digital quality and accessibility platform. This is, again, your content editors being able to edit in line and understand how to make a more inclusive design, how to put pictures on our website that automatically have that alternative text. That's really what we're pushing for, is being able to put the guardrails up on your website without crushing the creativity of the editors. We know that a lot of content editors and people working within the CMS, let's say developers, uh, you know, we do not want our resources being spent, uh, on fixing items after they've been published. You know, if we can identify these issues pre-publication, we are saving an untold amount of money because we're able to correct it prior to publication, rather than having to stop, go back in, utilize a resource, uh, to make those remediations. Now. What we've gone through here so far is, um, you know, looking at the DCMs software, um, utilizing the native integration as a content editor. One additional point that I do want to point out, that I think is a huge feature for this is the ability to integrate some of these checkpoints and some of these items into your release. So we've talked about content editor. Now let's look at this from maybe a management perspective or a director's perspective. If we have information data on our website, um, you'll obviously recognize a lot of this. Uh, within our normal release cadence, we have lots of options on how to customize the release. We know we can set up workflows, priority deadlines, put notes in there. Now, with this native integration with digital accessibility, you can start to add some of those constraints onto the release. What does that mean for you as a manager? As a director, that means you now have a higher level of control around your website, meaning before your web page gets published or before content gets published, you can set up those guardrails and say the content must be accessible, the content must be usable. You can begin to ensure your content is accessible, usable, um, and easily findable prior to publication, and you can start to put the guardrails on utilizing some of these release conditions. In our opinion, this is really where the power of digital quality and accessibility from Crown Peak comes into play. Because as I said before. Being able to go into a dashboard and see what's going on in your website right now, what's going on across all of your websites at one time, but more importantly now being able to add content, edit content, and have this information running real time live so that you can understand the things that help make a website more usable. And I know I talk a lot about usability and accessibility. Usability is really how everyone interacts with our website. So usability or things that things that impact usability, broken links for example, those items impact everyone. So if we can make some of these changes that are a positive impact in our accessibility area, they oftentimes have a lot of natural overlap with usability. So the overall experience of the website begins to increase. So I know we have about five minutes left and we've gone through a lot of this. Uh, what I'd like to do is flip back over really quickly and just kind of bring back all of these different things that we've talked about in the last 25 minutes. Why is digital accessibility and quality critical for your business? Uh, when we think about digital accessibility and quality, the impacts are far reaching. It's not just your customers, it's your employees as well. And that's something that oftentimes is kind of set to the side. But when we think about reaching all of our customers and at 15% of our customers, um, could have a disability, same thing with our employees. So if we can make our website accessible, more inclusive, it's helping not only our customers but our in our internal employees as well, being able to quickly introduce the quality digital quality management into your, um, companies easily without, um, a major implementation. Like I said, Crown Peak is the only, uh, CMS that has a native integration. And because we have that native integration, um, we can literally turn it on. We don't have to build it out for you. It's ready to go. Being able to remediate some of these accessibility issues, like we just spoke about before, has far reaching impacts, um, across different areas, multiple, uh, regions. It's not just those suffering from a disability, it really impacts everybody. We talked a little bit about if we can identify these issues prior to publication, we know we can save time. We can save resources by making those updates prior to publication, rather than, uh, being reactive and going back and making those updates. And then, of course, finally, um, and it's certainly, you know, last but not least, is it's the right thing to do. Uh, this right thing to do doesn't always, um, you know, help us sell this internally. But it's not only the right thing to do, but it has, again, a lot of impacts on your bottom line and making sure that we don't put ourselves out there for risk and that we're not going to get those demand letters, whether it be from, uh, EAA and email or some of the, uh, regulations in the US or Aoda in Canada. So, Shanna. Next steps. The next steps are incredibly easy. Contact your customer success manager. Uh, like I said, this digital quality and accessibility is already fully built out and tested. And so it's literally being able to identify where we'd like DXM and implementing it on the site. So I will take a quick pause here. Um, for any questions, I see a couple that we have. Um, so to address a couple of the, uh, Q&A. The first one we have is, uh, is it visible? Which standard? A double A and 888 are affected from the issue. And the answer is yes. We actually, um, categorize the issues a double A and triple A, and each one builds on the other. Um, we define that both within the software as well as within the DXM connect. And you can actually define that as well. Uh, I'm sure most of us, uh, if we don't know, a double A is usually the standard we are shooting for. Uh, are the DXM connect features exclusive to the content creator or they also available in site architect? Uh, currently they are available in Content Creator, but I will follow up with some additional information. Um, because we do have this available. Uh, in our headless, uh, area as well. And we have is the same question about DXM being available in site architect. Like I said, we'll follow up with some additional information about, uh, where that's located. In what parts? Uh, okay. I also wanted to answer another question about implementing. Uh, how is this implemented? We talked a little bit about this, but again implementation, no code implementation. This is an external scanner in an integration with your CMS. And of course, one of the last questions I wanted to answer very quickly, does Crown Peak offer any support or services around this. And the answer is yes. We actually have an entire digital accessibility team, uh, that has both, uh, testers on it, as well as senior developers that are very familiar with, uh, codes, architect, etc.. So we do have that available. Uh, we are right up at time. I want to just say thank you so much for joining our webinar today. I hope it was helpful to understand a little bit more about DQM and how it can impact your website. Thanks everyone.
